Simply said, this is my wife's new favorite Mexican food stop and she doesnt even have to beg me to come here for food! The hot sauce, not the regular salsa, is amazing. It tastes like it is made from fresh fire roasted peppers. The enchiladas were filled with shredded melty cheese and covered with a wonderful sour cream sauce. The chips and tortillas tasted like they were made fresh and I would be amazed if they were not. The beef used in the dishes that is fajita style is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. We have been back multiple times now and the service is consistently excellent and the food is always amazing. We have not had a dish less than excellent yet.

When you go to this resturant, make sure you are hungry because meals are large. We had just driving six hours and I still couldn't finish my meal. We were great ed by a friendly hostess . Our server was friendly and helpful. I had the Zapata Plate which consists of steak, breaded fish, six shrimp, rice, beans, guacamole and pico De galllo. I have posted a picture of this meal. I also had one of the best margaritas that I have ever had. We will be eating here on our next trip.

It was OK. I tasted something in my food. Like it was cross contaminated with fish. It was hard to tell. It was in the salsa and in my other food. Smokers wouldn't taste it. Drinkers might not taste it. But I did. I would put this place on par with Chelinos which ain't saying much.

The service was very good - prompt and friendly! Great margaritas! We had the chicken fajitas - tasted very bland and the flour tortillas had a weird taste. My rice was good but my beans were bland also. They give free queso and free sopapillas -I liked both. Overall the food was less than average. I don't anticipate coming back and wouldn't recommend.

Really, really bad. I should have given one star but they were nice. The food is only good if you've never had real Mexican food. The beans are inedible; they taste like they have pounds of cumin in them. The enchiladas were fast food quality. The chips and beer were the only aspects of the meal that were satisfactory. I'll never be back.

Amazing food, great service, and lots of food, all for a pretty good price. You need to eat here! The zapata's burrito was so good!

Tried because of previous reviews. This is not good Mexican food! Cheese dip provided with chips has no flavor (worse than canned from the grocery store). Chicken in Pollo Parilla dish was extremely chewy.

Am always puzzled how there can be such opposite reviews of the same restaurant! Came here anyway. Food was great! No problems with quality, quantity or service. This is deluxe nachos. My "test" is whether they come with shredded roast beef or ground beef. This was roast beef and plenty of real cheese, not cheese sauce

My friend wanted to come here. I have had way better Mexican food. As soon as the salsa and queso arrive, so do the flies. Not fun sitting there, waving our hands over our food constantly to shoo them away. The place was pretty dead except for a family when we arrived around 6pm. I ordered a combo plate of 1 taco and 1 enchilada. - Taco with pollo -- lettuce, dry pollo in a hard shell. - Enchilada with queso -- this was okay; the texture was off. I kept thinking 'I hope I don't get sick.' The rice and beans were decent. None of the wait staff we had spoke English, so it was difficult for me to communicate with them. They also did not have a variety of meats that I am accustomed to. I would skip this place. Oklahoma has better Mexican places to offer.

excellent food and service what more can you ask for? i;m sure someone will think of something, but sincerely, good food, helpful staff, except the girl/greeter at the front door, she looks like she just woke up out of a science fiction movie and can't figure out where she is. Lost as a goose. If yoou can get by her you got it made in the shade.

The food was fantastic, and the portions were huge! The waitress made the experience. She talked me through different menu options, brought me different types of salsas to sample (she wanted me to find the right amount of spice), and was very friendly and on the spot. I would definitely recommend this for a tasty night out that won't break the bank.

I really wanted to like this place, but the meal was so disappointing that I felt obligated to write a review given that the two reviews that existed and prompted me to try the place were both 5 stars. Not so much. I still can't figure out what, exactly, the substance was inside my cheese enchiladas. It was the color of cheese, sort of, but had a dry, spongy consistency. Missing was the melted, oozing stringy cheese that I so enjoy in a good cheese enchilada. The pseudo-cheese spongy matter was wrapped in a very mushy corn tortilla. The beans and rice were ok, but come on....it's beans and rice. Service was prompt (only two tables were occupied.....should have been my first clue) but not especially friendly. (I didn't get the friendly waitress mentioned in the other two reviews.) The cashier did say hello and thank you. I left wishing I had gone to Taco Bueno across the street.

Like the other posts have said, there were large portions, but you can't replace quality with quantity. The food itself really wasn't that good. There are many better Mexican places in OKC. I had two waiters while I was there. The first one barely spoke English and knew nothing about the menu. When I asked for a recommendation and seemed confused and walked away. Then I met waiter #2, he spoke English but still didn't know much about the menu. I asked for a suggestion and he just pointed to the first thing he saw that had a picture.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
